Where To Eat If You Live On A Castlethorn Street - The Carpenter
Nov 23, 2018
At risk of becoming a Where To Eat breakfast blog we decided it was time to venture into the world of lunch for this week’s Where To Eat If You Live On A Castlethorn Street. What better way to start this new chapter than at our upcoming development Riverwood Square in Castleknock. A short distance from this fantastic scheme sits the infamous Carpenter pub. Famed for its Sunday carveries and cosy setting future purchasers will be more than happy to call the pub their local.
We stopped by The Carpenter for a quick bite to eat on a cool and blustery Monday afternoon. As we entered we were immediately greeted by the warmth of a wonderful roaring fire. The establishment has lots of great little nooks and cranny’s and is spread out over two floors. You could easy get lost in here after a few too many! We were surprised by how busy it was for early lunch time on a Monday – once we had finished we knew why. Unfortunately we didn’t have time for a hot meal so we opted for salad plates instead. The plates were more like platters generously piled high with fresh vegetables and meat. They even gave us some stuffing! Accompanied by a steaming hot pot of tea we gobbled the lot and took a few moments to sit back and take in the atmosphere. The various dinky rooms off the main pub are all attractively decorated in different ways and there is a lovely old clock sitting right over the bar. There’s also a beer garden which would be glorious during the summer months with a nice, cool pint. You could easily spend a whole afternoon (and evening) here on a weekend.
All-in-all we thoroughly enjoyed our short-but-sweet stop at The Carpernter, Castleknock - we might even become locals ourselves!
Riverwood Square is a brand new Castlethorn development of 3 and 4 bedroom homes launching 2019.
